The Art Treasures of Lisbon

Art Treasures of Lisbon
Tuesday 10 March - 7.00pm
Castle Park Arts Centre, Frodsham

An illustrated lecture by Adrian Sumner (Artist and Lecturer in Art and Art History).

One of Europe’s great cities, and one of its least-known capitals, Lisbon offers wonderful Museums, Collections, Monuments, Architecture and Public Spaces.

This illustrated lecture looks at Bosch’s Temptation of St Anthony - the highlight of the National Museum, a roomful of scintillating Lalique jewellery in the Gulbenkian Foundation, Vasco da Gama’s tomb in the Mosterio de Jeronimos, and the extensive Modern Art of the Berardo collection in the Belem Cultural Centre. _

Plus; a visit to the Summer palaces of Sintra, the colossal Cristo Rei, the Monument to the Discoveries, as well as exploring the national obsession which is Fado.

Admission Free (Small charge for refreshments).
