Contemporary Art
The Art of Now
Tuesday 9 June

A peek into the newest developments in contemporary art, highlighting the doings of the risk-takers, snook-cockers, and general innovators.

Whether you like 'street-art' or not, some of its practitioners have become international stars, as well as major museum-attractions at home. We will try to work out their place in the grand scheme of things, as well as examining what's happening in Museums and Galleries, Public art, and the 'Inter-web' computer-me-bobs.

Don't worry - includes paintings, prints, photographs and sculptures, as well as installations, cyberspace, mixed-media, walls and bridges.

Click here to book tickets online or phone 01606 41597.

Gardens in Art
Tuesday 4 August

The relationship between Gardens and the Visual Arts is as old as Horticulture itself, starting way before the Hanging Gardens of Babylon.

We will pick out the best and brightest pictures from Myth and Pre-History, the Dutch and Italian Golden Age and numerous English Gardening crazes, as well as looking at celebrated actual gardens and the art they contain, not to mention maps and plans, and the photographs inspired by Gardens old and new.

Ha-has and Mazes, Fountains and Wetting Sports, Flowers, Fruit and Vegetables, Grottoes and Follies; we have it all.
