Midnight Train Soul and Blues Night

Friday 7 December
8.00pm - £8.00
Davenham Theatre
59 Church Street
Midnight Train have roots going back to the late sixties when they were a popular blues and soul band playing regularly at venues such as the legendary ‘Twisted Wheel’ club in Manchester: the haunt of bands John Mayall’s Bluesbreakers with Eric Clapton, The Spencer Davies Group with Steve Winwood and many other big names from both sides of the Atlantic.

The group still has two original members, now joined by three other experienced musicians all of whom have played with a range of bands over the years but have now returned to their original musical influences and play an eclectic mix of blues, classic soul and a sprinkling of jazz.

The line-up is Clive Pritchard on vocals, Martin Watts on lead  guitar, Stewart Speirs on harmonica, Brian Booker on bass guitar and Mike Storey on drums.

A night that will be sure to have your feet tapping to timeless classics from the likes of Eric Clapton, The Animals, BB King, Wilson Pickett, The Blues Band, Otis Redding, the Commitments and even some Gershwin.  Something to appeal to all: but if you are of a certain age be prepared to have your memories stirred! “There is a house in New Orleans, they call the Rising Sun…….”

The band’s proceeds from this event will be donated to various charities with a third going to St Luke’s Hospice in Winsford
