CAN are also touring an exhibition to commemorate World War One - details of the tour here. The exhibition comprises a range of works in various media and represents the personal responses to the Conflict of the Great War, seen through the filter of collective recollection, documentary accounts and family histories.

CAN member Adrian Sumner will be talking on the Art of War on Monday 24 February, when a selection of the artworks from the exhibition will be on view. Details of the talk here.

Blaze Poetry Workshops at VAC Gallery

Mid Cheshire Poetry Society will be running a series of poetry workshops at the VAC Gallery in Brunner Court, Northwich.

The workshops will be led by members, and focus on new work. They will run from 7.00pm - 9.00pm, with a suggested entry donation of £3.00 - includes refreshments.

Free Art Workshops for complete novices !!

The very down to earth teacher has endless patience and a great sense of humour and will help you overcome your worst fears of drawing, painting and crafts.

Choose one or more from the list - all sessions are fun and completely Free Of Charge!

1. Watercolour Paints for the Terrified
2. Monoprinting for the Slightly More Adventurous
3. Knitting for the Very Confused
4. Embroidery Stitches made Simple
5. Drawing for the Hopeless

All sessions are held on Saturday afternoons at the ArtWork Studios on Navigation Road, with plenty of tea and biscuits and a lot of laughter. Leave your inhibitions at home and have a giggle while learning a new skill.

VAC Gallery Fundraising

Nationally recognised, locally-based artist Julia Midgley has donated an etching and aquatint entitled "Avenging Angels" to the VAC Gallery. It is mounted and framed.

It is being raffled off to raise funds for the gallery. Tickets are £2 each or 3 for £5.

Adrienne Payne of Gothic Glitz has also donated a voucher for £75 to be redeemed on a commission or piece of her jewellery. Tickets are £2 each.

You are invited to visit & browse a collection of sculpture, jewellery, paintings, photographic work & ceramics brought together from selected artists across the region. The Cheshire Art Fair runs from 3-26 April, and is open 7 days a week from 11am till 3pm. Prices are affordable, ranging from £10 to £1000 with many beautiful pieces under £100. Part of the proceeds will be donated to a popular local charity, The Joshua Tree, providing support to children & their families coping with leukaemia.
