SUN, SEA AND SANDCASTLES

Poems Written By Children with Angela Topping

MY SHELL

Twisty Turvy
Topsy Turvy
It sounds like a rock
When you drop it from a table top
My shell isn’t tiny
But it’s shiny

By Ellie Nancarrow

SHELL
My shell is brown, white and grey
It is twirly too
It is pretty
It sparkles all day too

By Issy Chaplin

ON THE SEA
On the sea,
I see
Seashells on the sand
People swimming
People Surfing
On the land

By Elsha Rushe and Amy Scoltock

THE SHELLS
The shells in the sea shore
Sparkle in the salty sand
All day long
By Issy Chaplin

MY SHELL
My shell is bumpy,
Metallic
Shiny
Faded
Hard
Rattly
Sparkly
And smooth

By Leonie Bridge

SPARKLE
The sea shells sparkle,
All day in the sun

By Leonie Bridge

SHINY SHELLS
Shiny white on the inside
Rough yellow on the out
Bumpy holes here and there
Beautiful patterns everywhere
Little roles here and there
Round, white and all around bumpy
Wobbly when upside down
Steady and firm when right side up

By Antonia Molton

SEAGULLS
Seagulls on the sea bed
Flying right over my head!
Nesting here, nesting there
Spotting me Spitting salt
Seagulls , Seagulls
On the Sea Shore
Oh look!
There’s more

By Antonia and Erin Molton

SHELLS
The shell is shiny
It’s like an instrument
It’s a very bumpy cove

By Erin Molton

SWIM
She swims
Seeing sharks
Far from the sea shore

By Vistie Marsden and Ellie Nancarrow

SHELL
White swirly, dotty dirty, smells of the sea
Sounds of the beach, this shell is just for me!
Home to a creature, looks like a rocket
To take the creature to space
Quick! Stick it in your pocket!
It’s smooth all around and yes it does make a sound
Clang bang, ting tang
Oh my gosh!
My shell just sang!

By Vistie Marsden

INSIDE
White, bumpy on the inside
And reminds me of a clip
You can hear the inside
You can hear the outside
Scratching, smooth
And is the home to a creature that lives in it all day

By Elsha Rushe and Amy Scoltock

MER-MUM
She holds a silver-backed mirror
As she brushes her long dark hair
Her sea-green eyes grow hazy
As she croons a mournful air

By Angela Topping
